The Simfra Plus (Polyglecaprone) is a synthetic absorbable monofilament surgical suture material composed of Polyglycolide-poly (e-caprolactone) copolymer (PGCL)
The Simfra Plus suture is covered with Chlorhexidine diacetate (CHA), it provides both significant antimicrobial activity and low toxicity and sticks well to the skin or mucous membrane.
Chlorhexidine diacetate shows high antibacterial activity against various fungi, virus and bacteria, especially gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative bacteria, yeast fungi, skin parasites, lipophilic virus.
Chlorhexidine diacetate has a well-established safety profile, it’s quite commonly used for oral rinses and skin cleaners for human. Exposure to Chlorhexidine diacetate from our sutures is minimal, the Chlorhexidine diacetate of our anti-bacterial sutures is 20 ~ 75 ppm (0.0020% ~ 0.0075%)
Type of thread
Monofilament
Reabsorption time
- Reliable absorbability by hydrolysis. Essentially complete at 90-110 days.
- Average 65% of the original tensile strength at 1 weeks.
- Average 40% of the original tensile strength at 2 weeks.
- Average 0% of the original tensile strength at 4 weeks.
